Colors

I started giving Gretchen multiple food options on her tray at once. The funny part is that she only eats one color at a time. And its always the same order. White, green, then orange last. Its the funniest thing. It doesn't even matter if the white is chicken or bananas or pears, they are always first. The second could be peas, beans, or avocado. Last is always orange...carrots, yams, peaches, mango.

Bargain Curtains

Today I made curtains. Yes two sets. One for my room and one for Gretchen's room. To replace to broken and awful blinds that were removed long ago. There were two great things about this venture. #1 was price. I went to the fabric store to buy fabric with which to make curtains and quickly realized it would be about $50. Then I found a set of sheets at TJ Max that would work perfectly for about $10! Wow, how else do you buy fabric that cheap. #2 was how simple they were to make. Each set took a total of about 30 minutes each. It was simple, it was cheap, and it was done quickly. Thats about how much time and patience I have for these types of projects. I love actually finishing something...it feels good!

Now to get them hung!

She also got to go swimming with friends and spend a day in Seattle with her cousins and Aunts and Uncles. She's a very loved little girl! And I just can't believe she's SEVEN!

Eating Yams

Gretchen loves to feed herself. Recent favorites include bananas, pears, O's, yams, mangos, peaches, carrots, avocado, rice pasta, and peas. Now that she likes to do it herself we are lucky to get a spoon in her mouth for a few bites a day. She will spend a lot of time laboriously trying to get all those little bites into her mouth. She is already a determined independent little girl.
